Five reasons to be thankful for social media this holiday season

Five reasons to be thankful for social media this holiday season

Social media has drastically changed the world we know and live in. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I have listed below five reasons why I am thankful for social media from a marketing perspective:

1) Increased brand awareness:

Social media allows a brand to act as a person. People want to do business with people, not a company, so this is a great benefit. Marketers often refer to this as the humanized element social media brings to your brand image. It is easy for brands to share their expertise, and answer questions users are looking for answers to, in regards to topics in every industry. Whiles brands help social media users learn new things, the brand will be on their mind.

2) Improved customer service:

At Next! Ad Agency, we see many Facebook pages, for local businesses in every industry, receive messages from their current clients, patients, and customers, asking to schedule an appointment, if someone is available to call them, express their trouble in getting a hold of someone, etc. Now those issues were resolved and customer service was provided where it maybe would have not been other wise. We also see new clients or patients ask questions about our clients’ services which leads to new business opportunities. There are a lot of analytical tools to understand your audiences demographics and behaviors on the platforms as well.

3) Conversions:

Social media can be used for businesses to have contests, giveaways, and sweepstakes which generate leads that can turn into conversions. Business owners can always advertise their products and services which lead to conversions too.

4) Decreased advertising costs:

Facebook ads can reach as many people as radio or TV ads but cost about 1% ($.25) of the cost radio and TV charges per 1000 impressions. Facebook also has the most advanced digital targeting tools. Learn more about this in my other blog post titled “Should I use Facebook advertising for my business?” Almost every major social media site has advertising options.

5) Better search engine rankings:

It’s pretty safe to say that anyone who has access to the internet has seen some sort of information that has gone viral. Whether it was a news article, a video, or photo, if/when a business generates content that is highly engaging and is linked to the business website, that activity is read by Google’s algorithm and helps a business rank higher in the search engine results.

All in all, new ideas are created every day with social media. The five benefits for marketing that are listed above are just some of the positive experiences we’ve had for our clients here at Next! Ad Agency. If your business needs assistance with social media efforts in any regard, feel free to call us at 800-398-3029.
